patternmaking to increase her skills.

Angela

Angela wanted to learn to read a pattern and finish a project in 1 lesson – just look at her excellent results!

Anita

Anita started lessons in March 2010 and has a real passion for natural fibres which she has combined to produce her own range of homewares and accessories. Having never touched a sewing machine, Anita started her lesson by learning how to thread a machine and what to use the different stitches for. After purchasing some natural fabrics, her creativity blo

omed into her own designs, whilst making her own products. Our seamstress (who managed her own business for several years) was able to assist Anita through the making stage and into the process of setting up her own small business. Anita now has her own webpage rawhandmade.wordpress.com and sells to local businesses.

Nicola

Nicola started having regular lessons recently, to achieve creating her own clothes, and therefore styling her own look.

Nicola's Overlocking Skills & Invisible Hem

“I’ve always wanted to make my own clothes. So first I tried sewing classes at local college and then I tried a dressmaking course via correspondence. I didn’t get very far with either. With Kristie I learnt in one lesson what took me weeks of classroom sessions to learn. Also as a beginner, I found a lot of the reading material from the online course fairly overwhelming. To be able to have on-on-one teaching in my own home has been ideal. In just a few lessons I have made a bag, an apron and now a skirt. I highly recommend this service to anyone”

Marie-Eve

Marie-Eve began lessons to learn patternmaking, and discover how to create patterns from the pictures from magazines, of styles she liked. From here, Marie-Eve continued on to create the outfits, from pattern to finishing, using an overlocker on stretch garments, which was supplied for her lessons. Following is some images of her work.
